Y-STR Polymorphism and Haplotype Analysis in the Japanese Population

Tohokudai et al 2001

(DYS19, DYS389II, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392 and DYS393) were investigated in a male population sample from Miyagi Prefecture. In 112 males, 87 different haplotype were observed and 76 of them were observed only once. The haplotype diversity was calculated at 0.983. Y-STR haplotyping will be useful for paternity testing and personal identification of male.
